Scorn is, first and foremost, a gaming home for its members.
In Aion, Scorn is a guild designed to experience the entire game with a strong focus on PvP.
We all want to be part of a guild that tries to abide by the following core principles:
1) Open, visible management - no secrets or agendas. A guild is not 6 people, it's everyone.
2) Understanding and Patience - about life, about bad days, about needing a drink, about progress, about complaints.
3) Heart - we help each other, share information and keep spirits up when times are tough. A guild that has been around for years knows their core players so well that they know what they have for breakfast and the names of their kids, pets, and friends. We depend on each other and you can count on each other.
4) Respect - We respect everyone as equals.
5) Pride - we are proud of our guild - and uphold our name to people outside of the guild.
6) Sharing - we aren't greedy, we don't care about that gear for ourselves, we look to each other and what will help the success of the guild above ourselves. So we do that run for the 20th time because there is no one else who can and people need it. That is not an officer expectation - that is an everyone expectation. We pass things up that will benefit others more, we spend our last kinah on that chest piece that someone really needs and has had a very bad week - we care.
7) Responsibility - We keep our promises, we meet expectations, we do what is necessary for the guild. If we can't, we step aside and let someone else who can. Do not say you will be there and then 'oh sorry couldn't'. Don't promise unless you know you will be there.
8) Perceptions - we manage perceptions of members, we don't talk behind people's backs to others, we don't make fun of people, we joke around and kid and tease - we never ever sit in a channel letting people insult someone behind their back - no matter how much we agree.
9) Positive - we keep positive, we vent to each other but also let everyone know we are struggling too. 100 heads are better than 6 and everyone in our guild has multitudes of guild experience. Negativity breeds negativity - bitching and bitching will gain you the same in return. But be positive and you may change a view, encourage someone and you may get a loyalty you wouldn't have before.
Please don't confuse these ideals with weakness. We don't expect you to suspend your real life for the game, but we expect you to participate in game. If you cannot attend our scheduled guild events on time and participate in them according to our rules, we will ask you to step out of Scorn.
